Fluoroscopy
Think of fluoroscopy like a video x-ray. With the help of a contrast agent like barium (which helps illuminate physical structures when introduced into the patient’s body), fluoroscopy gives doctors a real-time view of bodily systems at work. The procedure is especially helpful in diagnosing issues of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract.
Deaconess Illinois Crossroads’s fluoroscopy technology includes a mobile fluoroscopic digital imaging system, commonly called a C-arm. The C-arm has multiple image enhancement technologies that enable physicians to see tissue and bone detail with clarity.
We offer fluoroscopy services on an emergency basis 24/7 and on an outpatient basis Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
